Edwardian jewellery, produced roughly between 1901 and 1915, is characterised by delicate platinum settings, intricate filigree work, and the prominent use of diamonds and pearls, reflecting a light, graceful aesthetic inspired by lace and garlands.

Goldsmiths of this period frequently paired yellow gold or rose gold bands with platinum-topped settings to enhance the brilliance of diamonds and provide a secure, durable framework for precious stones.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-cut stones such as old mine or old European cuts, characteristic claw or milgrain settings, and often bear period hallmark stamps specific to British or European assay offices.

Historic rings pair effectively with contemporary minimalist bands for a curated, mixed-era stacking look that highlights the unique character of antique craftsmanship.

Regular professional inspections of the prongs are essential to ensure the stones remain secure, and cleaning should be performed gently using warm soapy water with a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners on treated gems.
