We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

This 19th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty double-gourd shaped snuff bottle is an example of layered cameo glass. The piece combines a cream body with green glass overlay carved in relief with leaf foliage, a seal mark panel, and a rounded cabochon stopper set into a fluted brass neck mounting. The blue cabochon top adds a strong contrasting tone to the green and cream palette below, while the brass collar shows multiple turned mouldings leading down to a tapered neck. Measuring 10 cm high, 4.2 cm wide, and 2.5 cm deep, the miniature container sits compactly on any flat surface. Placed on a bookshelf or within a gentleman's library display, the tactile carved exterior offers a distinct focal point among small decorative collectibles and desk accessories.

Chinese Peking glass snuff bottles originated during the Qing Dynasty, produced using a cameo glass technique where layers of contrasting coloured glass are carved away to reveal relief designs.

Craftsmen fused one or more layers of coloured glass onto a solid glass core before hand-carving the outer layer into detailed architectural, floral, or figurative motifs.

Authentic pieces feature hand-carved details with subtle tool marks, well-integrated multi-layer glass, appropriate hand-drilled interiors, and historical wear around the foot rim and collar.

Display the item inside a glazed cabinet or on an illuminated shelf where backlighting highlights the translucency and relief layers of the glass.

Wipe gently with a soft microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, immersion in water, or exposure to extreme temperature changes that cause thermal shock.
