Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Elizabethan furniture is characterised by heavy proportions, robust construction, and intricate ornamentation, frequently incorporating strapwork, scrolling foliage, and carved geometric motifs inspired by Renaissance architecture.

English cabinetmakers of the period predominantly utilised native timbers such as oak, often supplemented by fruitwoods and marquetry inlay work using contrasting light and dark woods.

Authenticity is typically assessed through construction methods such as hand-cut mortise and tenon joints, hand- forged iron hardware, timber shrinkage patterns, and tool marks consistent with period practices rather than modern machinery.

Pairing a dark, heavily carved antique piece with minimalist walls, neutral textiles, and modern lighting creates a balanced interior scheme that highlights the historical craftsmanship without overwhelming the room.

Maintain antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, avoiding silicone-based polishes, and periodically applying traditional beeswax to nourish the timber and protect the patina.
