FAQs

Camphor wood trunks have been crafted in East Asia, particularly China, for centuries, traditionally used for storing garments and valuable documents due to the woods natural insect-repellent properties.

These chests are typically crafted from solid camphor wood, known for its distinct aromatic scent and grain, often featuring intricate hand-carved high-relief panels and traditional brass hardware.

Authentic pieces often show hand-carved detailing with natural irregularities, traditional mortise and tenon joinery, aged brass hardware, and the characteristic lingering aroma of camphor wood.

A carved wooden trunk works well as a functional coffee table in a living room or as a statement storage piece at the foot of a bed, adding textural warmth and global character.

Maintain the wood by dusting with a soft, dry cloth and occasionally treating it with natural beeswax, avoiding direct sunlight and excessive humidity to prevent cracking.
