Art Deco jewellery is characterised by geometric precision, symmetrical designs, and a strong influence from modern industrial advancements, frequently featuring contrasting gemstones and stylised motifs.

Jewellery from this period predominantly utilised platinum or yellow gold settings, encrusted with old-cut diamonds and centred around vibrant precious gemstones such as sapphires, rubies, and emeralds.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-cut gemstones, specific makers marks or hallmarks appropriate to the era, and meticulous hand-carved or millegrain detailing that machine-made reproductions struggle to replicate.

An antique cocktail ring serves as a striking focal point and can be worn alone to draw full attention to its historical craftsmanship, or paired with minimalist contemporary attire for a balanced contrast.

Store antique rings separately in soft-lined boxes to prevent scratching, avoid exposing them to harsh chemical ultrasonic cleaners, and have the settings inspected regularly by a professional jeweller to ensure stone security.
