This Victorian dressing stool dates from around 1880 and follows a classic X-frame design in dark brown mahogany with shaped curule legs and scroll feet. A turned central stretcher reinforces the base, while the top holds a square upholstered seat covered in gold damask fabric edged with a woven braid trim. The frame shows natural signs of age including surface wear on the timber and staining on the front corner of the textile. Measuring 40.5 cm high, 51 cm wide, and 51 cm deep, the stool functions practically as a seat in a bedroom, at a dressing table, or positioned at the foot of a bed.
