An Edwardian silver sugar caster is a perforated vessel produced during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910), utilised for sprinkling castor sugar onto desserts, pastries, and fruit.

These casters were typically manufactured from sterling silver, often featuring internal liners or glass bodies crafted from cobalt blue or clear glass to hold the sugar.

Authenticity is verified through British hallmarks stamped on the silver components, indicating the assay office, date letter, makers mark, and sterling standard.

This piece functions effectively as a decorative tabletop object on a sideboard, dining table centrepiece, or within a glass-fronted display cabinet.

Silver should be cleaned infrequently using a specialised non-abrasive silver polish to maintain the metalwork, while glass liners can be washed in warm soapy water.
