Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This French Art Deco condiment set from the 1930s comprises a pair of clear glass bottles fitted with pointed silver metal tops and marked with individual medallions lettered O and V. The bottles sit securely inside a tray featuring a prominent arched carrying handle, a mirrored base, and decorative wooden bar scroll handles finished with concentric circle end caps at either side. Manufactured from glass, chrome and wood in silver and clear tones, the structured geometric wireframe design exemplifies the distinctive style of the period. The complete assembly measures 19 cm high, 16 cm wide and 8.5 cm deep. It functions as a practical dining table accessory or serves as a decorative display piece on a sideboard top within a modern interior.

FAQs

Art Deco modernist tableware from the 1920s and 1930s prioritised clean geometric silhouettes, industrial materials, and functional simplicity. Items often combined clear molded glass with chrome-plated metals or early synthetic materials like Bakelite.

1930s French condiment sets typically utilised heavy molded or blown glass for the containers, combined with nickel or chrome-plated metal frames and stoppers to provide a modern, tarnish-resistant finish suited for table service.

Authentic pieces usually feature geometric structural frames, machine-age design motifs like stepped bases or concentric rings, and period lettering stamped or moulded directly into the glass or metal components.

A vintage modernist condiment set can be displayed on a dining table, kitchen island, or sideboard, serving as a functional accent piece that complements contemporary minimal or mid-century dining decor.

Glass bottles should be hand-washed using warm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh abrasives. Chrome components should be wiped dry with a soft microfiber cloth to prevent water spot accumulation and protect the plating.
