A Superb Regency Cut Glass Bonboniere.

A stunning cut glass bonboniere from the Regency period. This rare piece has sloping sides with extensive strawberry diamonds and fan cutting. This design is continued into the pedestal foot and repeated again on the lid, where there is a fan cut finial. A sign of high quality is that the cutting extends right across the base area to a polished pontil mark in the centre. Bonboniere's were high quality items for the Regency table containing bonbons or sweetmeats are sought after today.
