FAQs

Georgian Revival furniture refers to pieces produced in the late 19th and early 20th centuries that replicate the proportions, symmetry, and woodwork techniques of 18th-century English design.

These bookcases were commonly constructed from solid mahogany, walnut, or stained pine, often featuring tongue-and-groove panelled backs and fixed or adjustable solid timber shelves.

Look for machine-cut dovetailed joints, uniform panel backing, polished timber surfaces, and construction hardware typical of late Victorian or Edwardian manufacturing methods.

Position the piece against neutral walls and style the shelves with stacked books, ceramic vessels, framed prints, and small decorative objects to create balanced visual interest.

Dust regularly using a soft microfibre cloth and apply a beeswax polish periodically, placing the item away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to protect the wood grain.
