An Edwardian solitaire ring from circa 1910, made in 18k yellow gold with a polished finish. The ring holds a cushion-cut blue sapphire weighing 3.94 carats, secured in a claw setting on tri-split shoulders that taper into a slim shank. The sapphire measures 8.5 x 7.8 mm and sits 7.1 mm from the finger, while the overall weight is 3.95 grams. The sapphire has a silky blue colour and is certified as natural, unheated, and of Ceylon origin. The gold band is glossy and smooth, contrasting with the faceted gemstone held tightly by the double prongs. This piece fits comfortably as an everyday jewellery item or an engagement ring, worn on the hand for formal gatherings, daily wear, or special celebrations. It brings a classic touch to personal collections and pairs easily with other fine jewellery pieces. The ring suits modern wardrobes that incorporate vintage accessories and sits securely on the finger for continuous wear throughout the day.

An Edwardian sapphire solitaire ring typically dates from between 1901 and 1915, featuring a single prominent sapphire set in precious metal. These designs showcase refined metalwork, claw settings, and detailed shoulders characteristic of early 20th-century jewellery craftsmanship.

Rings from this era were traditionally crafted in 18-carat yellow gold or platinum. Gems such as Ceylon sapphires were frequently cut in cushion shapes and secured using multi-claw settings to allow light passage through the stone.

Authentic pieces from the Edwardian period often display hand-carved split shoulders, period hallmark stamps inside the band, and hand-cut gemstones exhibiting subtle proportion variances.

An antique solitaire ring serves as a subtle accent alongside modern tailoring or minimal gold jewellery. Its traditional profile enables it to pair with both casual daily wear and formal attire.

Clean the ring gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush to clear accumulation behind the setting. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, and store the piece separately in a fabric-lined pouch.
