Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Uranium glass is glass that has had uranium, typically in oxide form, added to a glass mix before melting to colour it yellow or green. Under ultraviolet light, it exhibits a distinct fluorescent green glow.

These pieces typically combine mould-blown or pressed glass bodies with securely fitted mounts, hinged lids, or screw caps crafted from sterling silver, often featuring intricate repousse or chased ornamentation.

Authenticity is verified by examining the hallmarks stamped on the silver mount, which indicate the assay office, makers mark, and date letter, alongside assessing the hand-finished quality of the glass.

They can be displayed on mirrored trays, dressing table surfaces, or open shelving where natural light can pass through the coloured glass to highlight its unique optical properties.

Clean the glass gently with lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals. Polish the silver mounts sparingly with a soft microfibre cloth, taking care not to expose the glass directly to metal cleaning agents.
