Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silverwork, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, frequently draws inspiration from earlier Georgian and Neoclassical styles, featuring light, elegant proportions, intricate piercing, and delicate ornamentation.

These pieces are typically crafted from sterling silver using techniques such as piercing, repousse, and casting, often paired with blown or moulded coloured glass liners in cobalt blue or cranberry.

Authentic pieces are identified through clear hallmarks stamped on the metal, which include the makers mark, the standard mark for sterling silver, the town assay office mark, and a date letter corresponding to the specific year of testing.

An antique silver basket can serve as a striking focal point on a dining table, sideboard, or mantelpiece, contrasting effectively with minimalist modern surfaces or adding metallic texture to a curated display.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth to preserve the patina, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage intricate details or applied finishes.
