Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco, prominent during the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by geometric shapes, clean lines, streamlined forms, and the use of modern industrial materials combined with luxurious finishes.

These items typically feature cut crystal or moulded glass bodies, fitted with sterling silver mounts and embellished with vitreous enamel using techniques such as guilloche engraving.

Authentic pieces usually bear clear makers marks, traditional silver hallmarks indicating the assay office and date letter, and precise hand-machined guilloche patterns under translucent enamel rather than printed modern simulations.

Display these pieces on mirrored trays, marble surfaces, or open shelving within a dressing room, bathroom, or living area to introduce metallic contrast and historical texture.

Clean silver components gently with a specialised polishing cloth, avoiding direct contact with the enamel surface. Keep items away from prolonged direct sunlight and moisture to protect the delicate metalwork and vitreous coating.
