A Dutch scenic silver caddy spoon is a specialized utensil used to scoop loose tea leaves from a caddy into a teapot. These items typically feature embossed or repousse bowls depicting rural Dutch genre scenes, windmills, or pastoral landscapes.

Dutch caddy spoons were predominantly manufactured from high-grade or sterling silver. The construction involved casting handles separately and joining them to die-stamped or hand-embossed silver bowls.

Authenticity is verified through hallmark inspection, typically revealing Dutch purity marks alongside British import marks, such as the Chester assay office mark, which indicates legal entry and testing in the United Kingdom.

An antique caddy spoon can be displayed within a framed shadow box, arranged on a tray alongside vintage tea sets, or incorporated into a dining room sideboard presentation.

Silver caddy spoons should be gently washed in warm, soapy water and polished with a soft cotton cloth using specialized silver polish to avoid removing delicate embossed detailing.
