Early 20th-century French tableware frequently combined sterling silver or silver plate with high-clarity cut glass, reflecting traditional craftsmanship and refined dining customs of the period.

Authentic period pieces were typically crafted using heavy cut or pressed crystal glass liners housed within pierced or cast silver-plated or solid silver frames.

Authenticity is generally determined by examining metal hallmarks or makers marks stamped onto the silver, the weight and clarity of the cut glass liner, and the quality of the hand-chased detailing on the handles and frame.

This type of piece can be utilised as a decorative accent on a dining sideboard, coffee table, or open shelving unit to introduce metallic texture and historical contrast to contemporary spaces.

Silver components should be cleaned periodically with a non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth, while glass liners can be washed gently in warm soapy water, avoiding harsh chemicals or dishwasher use.
