Description

Beautiful Art Deco 18ct Gold Ruby and Diamond Ring. Exquisite art deco ring consisting of excellent coloured bright brilliant cut diamond of excellent colour and clarity with no carbon inclusions to be found- measuring 5mm x 5mm. The diamond is set into white gold and surrounded by a halo of caliber cut rubies of beautiful colour. There are a further 42 small brilliant cut diamonds curving around the rubies and the central diamond forming a target style ring. The total diamond weight is approximately 0.92ct. The total face of the Ring measures 14mm x 18mm. Would make a wonderful classic ruby engagement ring or pretty dress ring. Its a show-stopper, it twinkles and glitters from every angle. Ring is in overall very good condition, the stones have no chips and the shank is strong. There is a historic flaw in the gold casting underneath, but this is not noticeable and does not affect the ring in any way. Shank is not hallmarked but has been tested for 18ct white gold throughout and most certainly dates to the early art deco era. This ring is size UK J and US 4 3/4 Weight 4g

Photographs are ZOOMED with x5 magnification. SO Please Check Sizes And Weights before purchasing as JEWELLERY IMAGES ARE ENLARGED!! Dark areas are reflections on the gold.

Buy With Confidence: I try to accurately describe my items. I never knowingly mis-sell any item, so please read the description carefully. All items are checked by a professional Jeweller for authenticity; however no certificates are provided. If for any reason the item is found not to be genuine or as described a full refund will be given. So please buy with confidence.

Your jewellery will come in a modern gift box and not necessarily the one in the photograph.

Please also note that Antique and Vintage items will show some signs of wear commensurate with age.

Returns are accepted however buyer must pay return postage.

Finally - by purchasing a Used /Vintage/ Antique ring you are recycling a beautiful piece of jewellery and gemstone. In buying a ring which has been in circulation for this long is the most environmentally ethical way to purchase jewellery. Purchasing antique jewellery allows you to both support smaller local businesses and but encouraging the reuse of the vast amount of timeless jewels that are already in circulation and reduces the demand for further stripping of our planets resources.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery, prominent from the 1920s to the 1930s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, clean lines, stylised motifs, and the frequent use of contrasting gemstones such as rubies and diamonds set in white gold or platinum.

These pieces typically feature high-carat gold or platinum settings, accented with calibrated gemstones like calibre-cut rubies, sapphires, or emeralds, paired with old-cut or single-cut diamonds.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-crafted millegrain detailing, precise geometric settings, hand-cut stones showing slight individual variations, and period-appropriate hallmarks indicating metal purity.

An antique ring can serve as a striking focal point when worn alone on the hand, or paired alongside minimalist modern bands to create a textured, layered aesthetic that highlights its historical craftsmanship.

Antique jewellery should be cleaned gently using warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh chemical ultrasonic cleaners which can damage fragile settings or heat-treated stones.
