We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian scent bottles typically feature blown or moulded glass bodies paired with hallmarked sterling silver caps, often showcasing intricate chased or embossed floral designs reflecting the aesthetic tastes of the late nineteenth century.

These pieces commonly combined soda-lime or cranberry glass with sterling silver components, occasionally incorporating enamel decoration, hand-painted motifs, and inner glass stoppers to preserve volatile perfumes.

Authenticity is verified by examining metal components for clear British hallmarks indicating the assay office, makers mark, and date letter, alongside period-appropriate manufacturing techniques such as pontil marks and hand-cut facets.

These decorative objects work well when displayed in small groupings on mirrored trays, dressing tables, or open shelving, allowing their craftsmanship and colour to act as focal points.

Preservation involves dusting the glass with a soft, dry cloth and using specialist silver polish sparingly on the metal cap while avoiding contact with any painted or enamelled surfaces.
