This Edwardian bracelet is constructed from nine-carat gold and takes the form of a classic curb link chain. The front section alternates three oval bezel-set purple amethysts with two clusters of white seed pearls in floral arrangements. A hollow heart-shaped padlock clasp fastens the piece, stamped with London assay hallmarks for 1907 and the maker mark of Robert Pringle and Sons, alongside a fine safety chain connected to the main links. The gold metal has a polished finish with a warm yellow hue. The bracelet measures 19.5 cm in length and fastens securely around the wrist for daily wear as a historical accessory or statement piece.

Edwardian padlock bracelets feature interconnected metal links held together by a heart-shaped lock clasp, often detailed with British hallmarks and security features like safety chains. During the early 1900s, jewellers frequently decorated these links with natural gemstones such as amethysts and seed pearls.

Edwardian fine jewellery commonly utilised 9ct or 15ct yellow and rose gold, often set with natural seed pearls, amethysts, garnets, or turquoise. The metals were hand-worked, featuring hollow or solid curb links and hand-stamped assay hallmarks.

Authentic British Edwardian pieces feature official assay office hallmarks, including purity marks such as 9ct or .375, a date letter corresponding to the early 20th century (19011910), and town marks such as the Leopards Head for London.

Antique gold bracelets can be worn individually as a statement piece alongside tailored modern daywear or stacked with minimal gold bands to create a contemporary textured wrist look.

Clean gently using a soft, dry cloth without harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners, as seed pearls are porous and vulnerable to moisture. Store the piece flat in a lined jewellery box to prevent links from pulling or scratching.
