Edwardian silver mounted glassware reflects the refined craftsmanship of the early 20th century, typically featuring sterling silver fittings combined with hand-blown or moulded glass for domestic dining use.

These pieces generally comprise British hallmarked sterling silver for the lids and mounts, paired with clear or coloured soda-lime glass for the body, often accompanied by a matching silver spoon.

Authenticity is determined by examining the hallmarks on the silver mounts, which indicate the assay office, date letter, makers mark, and sterling standard, alongside period-appropriate manufacturing techniques in the glass.

Such decorative items add a touch of heritage and texture when displayed on open shelving, sideboards, or dining tables as functional accents or receptacles for small items.

Clean the glass with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, while using a specialized non-abrasive silver polish on the metal mounts to maintain the finish without damaging the hallmarks.
