Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Edwardian jewellery, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by lighter, more delicate designs, often incorporating intricate filigree, floral motifs, and the prominent use of platinum and sterling silver.

These pieces were predominantly crafted from sterling silver or gold, frequently featuring hand-engraved surface details, floral scrollwork, and occasionally set with small gemstones or pastes.

Authenticity is typically verified through clear hallmarks stamped on the metal, indicating the assay office (such as Chester or Birmingham), the standard mark (like the lion passant for sterling silver), and a date letter corresponding to the early 20th century.

An antique silver pendant can be layered with contemporary fine chains for a textured, mixed-era look, or worn simply as a statement piece against minimalist clothing to highlight its historical craftsmanship.

Silver pieces should be stored in anti-tarnish pouches away from moisture and direct sunlight. Cleaning should be done sparingly using a soft, non-abrasive microfibre cloth to preserve the natural patina and fine engraved details.
