Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver desk accessories, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, reflect a period of refined elegance, craftsmanship, and the continued importance of handwritten correspondence in formal and domestic life.

These pieces are typically fashioned from sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques such as spinning, casting, and hand-chasing, often incorporating fitted glass or ceramic inserts to hold the liquid ink safely.

Authentic pieces are identified by inspecting the official British hallmarks stamped into the metal, which typically include a makers mark, the standard mark for sterling silver, the town assay office mark, and the date letter corresponding to the Edwardian period.

An antique silver inkwell adds a touch of historical refinement when placed on a contemporary timber workspace, a bookshelf, or a mantlepiece, contrasting polished metallic surfaces with modern minimalist decor.

Preserve antique silver by gently cleaning it with a non-abrasive silver cloth to remove tarnish, avoiding harsh chemical dips, and storing or displaying it in a stable environment away from excessive humidity.
