The Georgian era, spanning the reigns of the Hanoverian kings from 1714 to 1830, encompasses several design revivals including Rococo, Neo-classical, and Regency, characterised by intricate craftsmanship, delicate ornamentation, and balanced proportions.

Silver filigree involves soldering fine, pliable threads of pure or sterling silver, often twisted or flattened, into openwork patterns, mounted on a solid backing or structured independently to create lightweight yet ornate decorative objects.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-cut components, subtle irregularities indicative of manual soldering, period-appropriate hallmarks or makers marks where applicable, and natural patination consistent with age and handling.

These small-scale decorative objects work well when displayed within glass cabinets, curated tabletop vignettes, or styled alongside books on a mantelpiece or side table to add a layer of historic texture.

Antique silver should be kept in a stable environment away from high humidity and direct sunlight, cleaned sparingly with a soft brush to avoid damaging delicate wires, and kept free from harsh chemical polishes that can strip desirable patina.
