An awesome antique emerald and diamond ring. The rich, verdant green emerald is claw set within a surround of the super white and nicely chunky old mine cut diamonds in a navette shaped coronet cluster setting. Edwardian jewellery, spanning roughly from 1901 to 1915, is characterised by light, airy designs, platinum settings, and the prominent use of diamonds and pearls, reflecting the elegance of the Belle Epoque era.

Traditional materials from this period frequently include yellow gold, platinum, and high-carat settings paired with natural gemstones such as emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and old European-cut diamonds.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-cut stones, specific claw or milgrain settings characteristic of early 20th-century craftsmanship, and sometimes original maker marks or hallmarks appropriate to the period.

An antique cocktail ring can be worn alone as a statement piece on the hand or stacked with minimalist modern bands to create a contemporary contrast of eras.

Emeralds require gentle care; they should never be cleaned using ultrasonic cleaners or harsh chemicals, and should be stored separately to prevent scratching from harder gemstones like diamonds.
