FAQs

A waterfall bookcase features tiered shelves that recede in depth from bottom to top, creating a stepped profile reminiscent of cascading water, a design popularized during the Victorian and Edwardian periods.

Traditional pieces are typically constructed from dense hardwoods like mahogany or oak, often utilizing dovetail joinery for drawers and hand-finished timber panels.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate timber patination, hand-cut joinery marks, traditional timber shrinkage, and hardware consistent with early 1900s manufacturing techniques.

Pair the warm timber tones with contemporary artwork, neutral walls, and curated stacks of books mixed with decorative objects to bridge historical character with modern minimalism.

Maintain antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the finish.
