Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

A Regency style open bookcase is a low-profile storage unit designed during the early 19th century, typically featuring classical architectural motifs, high-quality timber veneers, and open shelving for accessible book storage.

These pieces were predominantly constructed from dense exotic hardwoods such as rosewood or mahogany, often featuring secondary timbers like pine or oak for internal structures, frequently complemented by marble tops or brass inlay.

Authentic pieces exhibit period construction techniques such as hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage consistent with age, hand-rubbed French polish finishes, and historical rosewood grain patterns that differ from modern sustainable alternatives.

Pair the rich reddish-brown tones of the rosewood with neutral walls, minimalist contemporary artwork, and curated stacks of books to create a sophisticated balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern design.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying appropriate microcrystalline wax to nourish the finish.
