Description

This is a superb antique early Victorian hallmarked sterling silver snuff box measuring 3" (7.5 cms) x 2" (5 cms) .

It opens and closes perfectly with a good strong hinge and the interior is in very good condition and gilded inside.

Particularly nice as the lid of the box bears the inscription 'Presented to Alex Millar by the servants of Balwyllo as a mark of respect of him as their overseer (1852) ' . Balwyllo is a place in Angus, Scotland.

It's hallmarked for Birmingham 1846 with the silversmiths mark for Nathaniel Mills

It weighs 75 grams/2.4 troy oz and the whole item is in excellent condition.

This item will come in a gift box with a certificate of authenticity.
