Stick pins gained immense popularity during the Georgian and Victorian eras, initially used by men to secure cravats and ties before transitioning into versatile lapel ornaments worn by both genders.

These pieces typically feature miniature paintings fired on enamel plaques, set into frames of solid gold or gold fill, often accompanied by fitted presentation cases lined with silk and velvet.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit fine, hand-painted brushwork under a glossy vitreous enamel surface, combined with period-appropriate metal testing, maker marks, and traditional pin stem construction.

A stick pin can be repurposed as a lapel accent on a blazer, used to secure a lapel scarf, or displayed upright in a miniature desktop frame or dedicated jewellery tray.

Preserve enamel pieces by storing them away from direct sunlight and moisture, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners, and handling them carefully to prevent scratching the delicate glass surface.
