Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian sovereign cases were manufactured primarily during the reign of King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910, designed to safely store and dispense gold sovereign and half-sovereign coins carried in pockets or on watch chains.

These items were predominantly crafted from sterling silver or solid gold, frequently featuring gilt interiors, spring-loaded internal mechanisms, and hallmarked stamps indicating the assay office and year of manufacture.

Authenticity is verified by locating official British hallmarks stamped into the metal, which include a makers mark, a standard silver mark such as a lion passant, a date letter, and an assay office symbol.

These small pieces can be displayed on a desk within a glass cloche, positioned inside a collectors cabinet, or styled on a tray alongside other small silver curiosities.

Preservation involves storing pieces in a dry environment away from direct sunlight, handling them with clean hands to prevent skin oils from accelerating tarnishing, and using non-abrasive cloths for cleaning when necessary.
