A joined oak wall cupboard dating from the eighteenth century. It has two shelves inside and is of excellent colour - a beautiful and useful addition to a country kitchen.The exterior of this cupboard has developed a lovely colour and patina from years of beeswax applications, while the inside (which hasn''t been waxed) is a ‘dry’ finish. The cupboard has a brass knob with a turn catch which appears to be original. There would have been a lock originally and the outline of this can still be seen on the back of the door - the keyhole is missing its escutcheon. The hinges, while old, have been replaced at some time. There is an old metal strap repair to the top of the cabinet. There are currently no fixings on the cupboard for hanging it on the wall, but we will attach some - it will be hung on the wall in our shop when I can make a space for it!Condition: Overall a very attractive cupboard in good condition, with some repairs as mentioned above.
