An extremely fine and rare piece of French Huguenot furniture. This carved Fruitwood armoire consists of a removable carved broken triangular pediment with central knight figure surrounded trophies and cornucipia, above a a heavily carved single door, with ornament associated with the protestant faith in France, the single door with original lock and key, enclosing adjustable shelf, supported on bulbous varved Bun feet. Of superb colour and patina throughout. The sides of fielded panel construction.
The armoire is of sound condition throughout and could be converted to take hanging rail.The armoire can be broken down into smaller parts to allow for logistics.
