Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian celestial jewellery emerged in the mid-to-late 19th century, featuring motifs such as stars, moons, and halos. These designs frequently incorporated turquoise, pearls, or diamonds set in rich yellow gold to convey romantic and symbolic meanings.

Craftsmen typically utilised high-carat yellow gold, such as 15ct or 18ct gold, paired with hand-cut natural turquoise cabochons. The stones were routinely secured in star-shaped grain settings or rub-over bezels with hand-finished metalwork.

Authenticity can be determined through period British hallmarks, hand-set gem mountings, and natural shade variations in the turquoise resulting from subtle age-related oxidisation. Modern reproductions usually display cast construction and perfectly uniform synthetic stones.

Victorian gemstone rings integrate smoothly into modern wardrobes as standalone statement pieces or stacked alongside minimalist contemporary gold bands. The vibrant blue stones create a balanced contrast when paired with modern neutral tailoring.

Because turquoise is a porous stone, it must be kept away from liquids, soaps, perfumes, and household chemicals to prevent colour alterations. Wipe the gold gently with a soft, dry lint-free cloth and avoid ultrasonic cleaning devices.
