18th Century Miniature Tincture Deceptive Baluster Glass C1740

Technical Description
 
A rare miniature Baluster Tincture Glass dating to c1730.
 
It has a deceptive conical bowl with a solid section at the base. Ball shoulder and basal knop above a conical foot.
 
Date & Origin
 
England or Europe, c1740. Period of George II.
 
Condition
 
Excellent, no chips cracks or restoration

Height: 18.8cm, Rim diameter: 2.9m, Foot diameter: 4.3cm
 
Comments
 
This glass comes from the Michael Wallis collection which took over 45 years to build and contains over 250 drinking glasses, covering all forms from the 18th century, many exceptionally rare. They will all be presented by Exhibit over the coming weeks and months.
