A superb, unique large scale English 19th century antique oak solicitors cabinet with fifteen doors, each door is hand painted with the original sign writing, this paintwork is completely original, NOT a later addition. This piece of very interesting social history refers to the deeds held by the solicitor.
The top nine doors have the original brass sliding bolt catches and the lower six doors have the original power catches, all have the original brass knob door handles.
This piece is not to be confused with the mass of recently fake sign written pieces out there, this is totally original.
Amongst others, the companies the solicitor held the deeds for Surrey Vaudeville Theatre Ltd, Angel & Co Solicitors, Aberystwyth Steam Packet Co Ltd, Corporation of Carmarthen, Manica Copper Development, Memory & Memory, Earl of Lisburne and City of Winchester. A wonderful antique piece, truly unique and in fabulous, original condition.
