18th Century Normandy Low Chestnut Armoire

18th century
Description

Charming late 18th century French chestnut panelled Normandy low armoire with inlaid five pointed star motif.

Being of a smaller proportion than usual, this armoire will fit in well as a hall coat cupboard as well as for bedroom storage. Internally, there is a full width hanging rail with a shelf below (also two slim drawers under the shelf), so it can offer great storage but with style.

This armoire is a good depth, so internally there is enough depth for a standard hanger.

Wonderful colour to the chestnut and oak panels to the sides. Original brushed metal door escutcheons and drop hinges too.

The cornice lifts off as do the doors, so ground floor access is easy enough and most staircases no problem too…if you have a difficult staircase do let me know as I can dismantle the armoire and rebuild it upstairs, but delivery would have to cost a little more as I would need to bring along a second pair of hands. Any queries, don’t hesitate to call or email.

Measurements:

73 3/4 inches or 187.5 cm high

50 1/4 inches or 127.5 cm cornice width

46 1/2 inches or 118 cm main body

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
