Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Continental floral encrusted porcelain is distinguished by intricate, hand-moulded three-dimensional flowers, leaves, and figurative elements such as putti or cherubs attached to the body of a ceramic vessel. Popularised by European manufactories in Meissen, Dresden, and Sitzendorf during the 19th century, these pieces feature Rococo Revival forms, scroll feet, lattice embossing, and painted details.

These items were crafted from hard-paste or soft-paste porcelain, fired at high temperatures, and hand-painted with ceramic enamels. The delicate floral petals and cherub figures were sculpted individually by artisans before being attached to the vessel prior to glazing and firing.

Authentic pieces generally display underglaze factory marks or impressed numbers on the underside, precise hand-painted enamelling, and natural wear to the unglazed foot rim. The detailed modelling of applied elements, combined with slight variations typical of handwork, distinguishes period items from modern mass-produced reproductions.

Position the vessel as a standalone accent on a mantelpiece, console table, or display cabinet to showcase its detailed sculptural profile. Pairing it alongside minimalist contemporary ceramics or dark polished wood provides a balanced visual contrast.

Remove loose dust using a soft, dry camel-hair brush, taking care around delicate petals and extremities. Avoid immersing the piece in water or applying abrasive chemical cleaners, as water can penetrate hidden hairline fissures or dissolve historic repairs.
