Antique Georgian Silver Dish Cross

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

This is a lovely example of a solid sterling silver dish cross, dating from the reign of George III.

It is clearly hallmarked for London 1783, with the maker''s mark for William Plummer. It has a central boss with bright cut decoration with rotating square cross-section arms, sitting on four cast feet. The arms adjust inwards to suit the size of the dish that is resting upon it. The backs of the dish rests are also beautifully decorated. The silver is in excellent condition and it is a very practical antique!
