Description

Handsome George III mahogany linen press c.1800. Two door top fitted with four sliding shelves, over a base with three long drawers of graduated height. Elaborate moulded cornice with bands of Greek key detail, ogee arches and flutes. Above a pair of doors with matching oval flame mahogany veneers with satinwood crossbanded borders set within mahogany crossbanded surrounds. Matching mahogany veneered (onto oak groundwork) drawer fronts with cockbeaded edges and brass swan neck handles. Raised on shapely bracket feet front and rear. Solid mahogany sides to the top and base. Oak linings to the slides and drawers and oak back boards. Some old wear and repairs to the veneers, otherwise very good condition. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied for the cupboard doors.
