The original carved top rail is dated 1678 along with the initials T B I and with lovely seaweed carvings. A beautiful size, inside are the original oak peg hanging hooks along with a later central hanging rail. This early antique period oak Westmoreland hanging cupboard has two panelled doors over a blind base, the sides are well panelled and have line moulded decorations. The backboards are just amazing. All in excellent condition, standing on tall square legs, just the oak cornice is later and with early 19th century hinges. Perfect for to use for coats within a hallway, as well as a period oak wardrobe in a bedroom.
