19th Century Cut Glass Claret Jug C1860

Technical Description
 
A 19th century cut glass claret jug. It has its original mushroom cut stopper above a long slice neck with a field of diamonds around the body. Strap handle with a star cut base.
 
Date & Origin
 
England, c1860. Period of Victoria.
 
Condition
 
Good, clean and clear. A stable stress fracture at the base of the handle which is very common with the handle shape. No chips, original stopper

Hand-blown around the time of Golf''s 1st recorded hole-in-one, by Tom Morris at Prestwick''s 8th hole.
