Description

Early 19th.c. North Wales oak cloak or tack cupboard c.1820. Two door cupboard top (internal depth 15") fitted inside with wooden hooks to the left hand side and, quite unusually, two original shelves to the right hand side. With two short and one long drawer in the base (the top two drawers being dummy fronts allowing extra hanging length inside the top). Moulded cornice over a particularly attractive inlaid frieze of a style associated with the market town of Talwrn on Anglesey, in contrasting mahogany, ebony and satinwood. Flat door panels within a simple moulded surround, and ebony inlaid escutcheons and original brass knobs. Moulded trim across the front of the base and bracket feet. Deal panelled sides and rear. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
