This is a pair of antique decorative lamps. An English, bronze table light with ancient Roman influence from the famous Townley Vase, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Superb bronze homage to the Townley Vase, a large Roman vase of the 2nd Century CE. The marble vase with krater overtones was discovered in 1773 beneath a villa south east of Rome. It was sold to the British Museum in 1805.
