Large Mason's Ironstone Vase C1860

19th century
Description

This LARGE IRONSTONE VASE, decorated in the typical MASON'S palette and of tapering hexagonal form, dates from circa 1860.

It stands a magnificent 17.5 inches (45 cm) high and would make an excellent base for a Country House Style Lamp.

The unusual handles are modelled as gilded ROSES.

The condition is good. There is no restoration and just the expected rubbing to the gilt. As can be seen from the photographs the collar on the inside of the neck has been intentionally nibbled away at some time. This cannot be seen from the outside.
