Description

A large and impressive 18th century Welsh oak deuddarn cupboard or cwpwrdd deuddarn (two-part Welsh cupboard) having moulded cornice with suspended turned finials, three blind arched panel cupboard doors each with brass knobs, raised on a large base consisting of three fitted drawers, above two large panelled cupboard doors, opening to reveal a half depth shelf. Raised on short block feet. Separates into two parts for ease of transport and movement.

Height – 187cm / Width – 163cm / Depth – 70cm

CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. General surface wear in various places including some age-related marks to the front. Structurally solid and sound. Evidence of historic wood worm in places – this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Some minor losses in places including to the cornice. Overall a good example of a Welsh two part cupboard dresser or ‘deuddarn’.
