Description:
Here is a fine quality pair of antique English Art Deco figured walnut bedside chests, circa 1930, featuring a secret spring-loaded drawer, in excellent condition. The bedsides are constructed with pretty mirror matched figured walnut veneers on a solid frame. The tables have been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore they are in excellent condition. The bedsides comprise fine quality figured walnut veneer tops. There is a secret spring-loaded drawer above the three bedsides, which can only be opened by de-pressing a sprung latch under the drawer bottom (you gain access through large top drawer below (see video). Below the secret drawers is three working drawers, which retain the original shaped chrome escutcheons. The drawers are constructed with dovetail joints. The bedsides stand on their original moulded bracket feet. These bedsides boast classic Art Deco styling throughout; this is visible in the rounded corners and clean lines.

Condition Report:
These antique English Art Deco walnut bedside tables are in excellent condition, which is commensurate with their age. They are pedestals from an Art Deco dressing table, which have been adapted into bedside chests. The bedsides have been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore they are in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and sides, but nothing significant considering the age of them. The bedsides feature lovely mirror matched figured walnut veneers, boasting a mellow walnut colour, which are all in excellent condition. The drawers retain the original handles and feature dovetail construction. The secret drawer locking mechanism is also in good original working condition. These bedsides are well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
