Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Tekke Turkmen rug is a hand-knotted textile traditionally crafted by the nomadic Tekke tribe of Central Asia. These carpets are distinguished by their rich red ground and repeating octagonal medallion patterns known as guls.

These rugs are woven using hand-spun wool for both the pile and the warp/weft foundation. Dyes were historically sourced from natural plant and mineral elements, producing shades of madder red, dark blue, ivory, and brown.

Authentic antique examples display dense asymmetrical hand-knitting, a soft flexible handle, natural colour variations, and specific design elements such as primary Tekke guls paired with smaller chemche secondary motifs.

A Turkmen rug anchors a space by offering rich warm tones and structural geometric geometry, pairing equally well with traditional dark wood furniture, modern minimalist leather pieces, or layered eclectic interiors.

Vacuum regularly using suction only without a rotating brush, rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear, and address spills immediately with a damp cloth rather than harsh chemical cleaners.
