Antique Georgian Country Oak Peg Joined Wardrobe Tack Cupboard C1740 Wdb420/1.6

Description

Lovely antique george 11 country oak tack cupboard/wardrobe and dating from around 1740. With original peg joints it has a cornice top with oak frieze above two panelled doors with brass handles between which is a triple panelled divider. Internally it has its original oak hooks and later hanging rails (that run from back to front). There are a further two panels below the doors (clothes hang below these panels) and it is moulded to the base with two drawers which are oak lined and with original brass handles and it stands on turned and block legs all joined by a stretcher. It has panelled sides and original rough hewn panelled back and all original peg joints.

The top separates from the base for ease of transporting.

This is a superb georgian oak tack cupboard armoire in good condition with a lovely deep nut brown colour and patination to the oak oozing the charm and character of the georgian country period.

It measures: 68" high X 18.5" deep X internal depth 16" X 59" wide
