Superb Pair of Mid 19th Century Mahogany Bedside Chests in the Style of Gillows

A superb pair of mid 19th century mahogany bedside chests in the style of Gillows.

This pair of bedside chests each consist of a mahogany top with moulded edge and brass gallery.

This leads down to an arrangement of superbly figured mahogany graduated drawers, one chest having 5 smaller graduated drawers, the other chest having 3 smaller graduated drawers with one deep drawer below, this having the appearance of two smaller drawers.

Each of the cockbeaded drawers with turned knob handles and fine quality dovetails joints, most drawers having magohany linings, some with birdseye maple linings, each of the drawer fronts and also the rounded corners to either side all of superbly figured mahogany veneer.

The sides of the bedside chests consisting of figured mahogany and all supported on moulded plinth bases.

This pair of bedside chests are in very good condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home - they are very versatlie due to their size and could therfore be used in a variety of settings.
