Each drawer is dressed with recessed brass handles. Splits into three parts for ease of transport. Believed to have belonged to Captain James Neish. Inside is a note that reads; ‘Captain’s Sea Chest. Captain James Neish. Died 1866. Probably “The Fort William”, Dundee, Scotland.’

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. Structurally solid and sound. There have been a couple of honest repairs including replacement moulding to either side at the top of the middle section. There’s general surface wear throughout including some shrinkage splits. There’s a piece of beading missing at the base. Overall in good antique condition and a good example of a captain’s sea chest or campaign chest.
