Very Large Old Sheffield Plated Communion Jug / Flagon

19th century
Description

A very impressive and large Old Sheffield Plated Communion Jug dating to c1830. I am told that this communion jug was taken over to the Guyana Mission in Georgetown in 1830 and returned to England in 1968 when the mission closed.

With a visibe internal seam.

In good condition but with obvious signs of use and age with copper bleeding to the raised edges and lid. One very shallow dent to the body and some discoloration to the interior.

Standing at an impressive 32cm with an approx base diameter of 17.5cm. Weighing approx 1.6kg.
